As an existing business owner/operator in Soldotna, we know you have a tremendous amount of time, energy, and resources invested in our community. We want to say thank you, and let you know we appreciate your business. To ensure that we are meeting your needs, we have teamed up with the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce to launch a new initiative called Business First for a Greater Soldotna. Our goal with the program is to get to know you better, understand your needs and opportunities, and learn how we can make Soldotna a better place to work and run a business.
Business First will be the cornerstone of our economic development program. While we welcome new businesses and industries to town, our top priority will be addressing the needs and concerns of our existing ones. We know your time is valuable, so will come to your place of business or wherever is most convenient to talk about how things are going. Your responses will be kept confidential, and we want to assure you that your privacy is very important to us.
Through the program, we will aim to visit with different businesses every week. We will follow up with any pressing issues first, whether it’s connecting you with a resource you need, looking into some changes at the City, assistance with marketing, etc. But we will also use these interactions to help guide the City and Chamber’s broader economic strategies. We want to spend our time working on things that matter most to you, so we’re reaching out so you can help identify what those opportunities are.
This program was possible through collaboration and training provided by the State of Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development, and Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District.
