Part of our responsibility is to not only address the City's immediate needs, but to plan for our community 10 or 20 years into the future. By coming together as a community to identify how we want Soldotna to look in the future, we can make decisions in the short-term to help guide us there.
The overarching policy document for the City is Envision Soldotna 2030, our comprehensive plan. This document was created during a 2-year period from 2009 to 2011, in a process that involved hundreds of members of our community. It contains basic information about the City, as well as goals and general policies that were identified by community members as important.
While Envision covers a broad range of topics and provides general policies about the city as a whole, the City has also adopted several additional plans which provide more specific guidance on different topics, such as parks and recreation, utility infrastructure, and the airport.
Several of these planning documents are available to download in the box to the right. To obtain archived copies of planning documents or a plan not listed on this website, please contact the Planning Department.
