Retirement 

Benefits are provided by the Public Employee's Retirement System. Regular full-time employees become a member upon hire.

Personal Leave for most regular full time employees
Personal Leave will accrue at the following monthly rates:

 0 through 2 years  15 hours
 Over 2 years, less than 5 years  17 hours
 Over 5 years, less than 10 years  19 hours
 10 years and over  23 hours

 
Personal leave will begin to accrue immediately upon hire.  Leave may only be taken for reasons of illness or injury during the first six (6) months of employment.

Personal Leave for regular part time employees
Personal leave will accrue at the following bi-weekly rates:

 0 through 2 years  3.46 hours
 Over 2 years, less than 5 years  3.92 hours
 Over 5 years, less than 10 years  4.38 hours
 10 years and over  5.31 hours
 
Employees are not eligible to use personal leave until after they have completed their six (6) month probation period. 

 

Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance 
The City offers extensive medical, dental and vision benefits to all regular full time employees. 

Supplemental Insurance 
Offered through Aflac.

Life Insurance 
Regular full-time employees receive a city paid $7,000 policy. Police department employees receive a city paid policy up to $67,000. Supplemental coverage for employees and dependent life coverage for spouse and children under 18 is available.

Employee Assistance Program 
Regular full-time employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Assistance Program that provides confidential counseling and legal services for employees and their immediate family. 

Deferred Compensation 
Regular full-time employees may choose to defer pre-tax earnings into a 457 deferred compensation program.
